We represent the medics that serve Austin and Travis County.
The Austin EMS Association represents the medics of Austin Travis County EMS. In 2012, the residents of Austin voted for its medics to become sworn civil servants. In that year, Austin EMS Association became the collective bargaining union for A/TCEMS employees. We represent the hard working public servants who provide outstanding medical care and rescue services, striving to improve our members lives and the lives of the members of the community we serve.
A/TCEMS is one of the world’s most prestigious EMS departments, responding to 911 calls within Austin City Limits and surrounding areas of Travis County. A/TCEMS has multiple response capabilities from EMS communications in a state-of-the-art 911 call center, prehospital emergency medical services on ambulances, Special Operations including rescue and tactical paramedics. Special events providing medical care at COTA, Austin Convention Center, ACL, SXSW, and many others.
Our 2019 Executives and Board of Directors volunteer to represent our association members. Officers serve 1-2 year terms with elections held in November. Aside from the monthly board meeting, officers volunteer their free time attending city council meetings, community events, and serve as committee chairs working on improving the lives of both association members and the community members we are sworn to help.
